Founded in 1999, GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers is one of the largest sources of recycled, remanufactured and reconditioned OEM auto
parts for the collision, mechanical repair and insurance industries.
Our 20
locations in 11 states offer a huge selection of high quality parts for cars,
vans and light trucks – all makes and models, foreign and domestic –
at a fraction of what new parts typically cost.
We purchase vehicles from auctions and auto manufacturers and begin our recycling process by removing fluids and other
hazardous materials. Then, our experienced technicians carefully dismantle the
vehicles. All parts are inspected and tested by our quality control department;
only those that meet our strict guidelines and tolerances are recycled for
resale. Some parts such as engines and transmissions may be remanufactured
while other parts such as lights and wheels may be reconditioned. All parts are
cleaned, tagged, entered into our custom inventory tracking system and carefully
stored in one of our warehouses. When parts are ordered, they are pulled from
the warehouse, tested, staged and carefully shipped. Most parts are available
for next day delivery in many parts of the U.S. Meanwhile, the remaining
vehicle hulks are crushed and sold to metal recyclers (including those that are
part of our parent company, Schnitzer Steel) for use in new finished goods.
We sell to wholesale customers such as insurers, body shops, mechanical repair
shops, auto fleets, extended warranty providers and dealerships. We also sell
to retail customers (both walk-in and Internet customers). Each year, we
purchase around 30,000 vehicles and handle 5 million customer requests.
Our inventory system ensures that our stores across the nation have up-to-the-
minute stock information and access to millions of ready-to-ship parts. At the
same time, our standardized appraisals and the accurate descriptions entered
into the system means that customers know exactly what they are going to
receive. This eliminates time-consuming surprises for repair shops and enables
them to schedule repairs in a predictable, efficient manner. Finally, our
extensive delivery network means we can provide next day delivery for most parts
to most regions in the U.S.
We stand behind our products with excellent warranty coverage. All parts come with a 6
month warranty while 1 year, 2 year and lifetime warranties are available to
meet your needs.
GreenLeaf was acquired in 2005 by Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc., a global leader in the
metals recycling industry that has been in business for over a century.
GreenLeaf and its sister company Pick-n-Pull Auto Dismantlers (a self-service recycled auto
parts chain) are two wholly owned subsidiaries that make up Schnitzer Steel's
Auto Parts Business. Being part of a Fortune 1000 company has enabled us to

Helping the Environment
Our vehicle disposal process recycles everything we possibly can. Parts are
purchased by our customers as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to
purchasing from traditional parts sources. Parts that can be refurbished (i.e.
radiators, alternators, compressors) are sold for remanufacturing. Many vehicle
fluids including gasoline, oil and antifreeze are recycled. Ferrous and
nonferrous metals are recycled and sold for reprocessing in new products. All of
this reuse reduces the amount of new products that need to be manufactured, not
to mention the raw materials and energy needed to create them.
Our environmental practices are second to none and exceed all federal
guidelines. From our extensive experience, we have implemented standardized
policies and procedures at all locations for managing vehicles and disposing of
hazardous wastes. In fact, our best practices set many of the standards adopted
by local communities as guidelines for others to follow.
All of these efforts taken together protect the environment, beautify our
neighborhoods and reduce the cost of new goods by returning valuable raw
materials into production.
